Enhance your card room with this stunning High Back Armchair that showcases the iconic spade symbol in its distinctive design. Created by Jonathan Charles as part of their Country Farmhouse Collection, this exceptional Leather Armchair brings authentic card room character to poker nights and bridge games. The rich medium antique chestnut leather upholstery creates a luxurious seating experience, whilst the unique spade-shaped handle beneath the curved rail adds that special playing card detail that sets this Walnut Chair apart. At 114.7cm tall, this impressive high back design provides excellent support during long card sessions. Exceptional craftsmanship shines through in every detail - from the heavily carved scrolling arms to the baluster turned front legs that rest on an elegant H-shaped stretcher. The entire chair glides smoothly on castors, allowing easy repositioning around your poker table or card room setup. Beautiful nailhead trim creates visual interest as it follows the contours of the front, back, and leather seat, also highlighting the distinctive spade handle. This Brown Leather Chair works perfectly with matching poker tables (sold separately) but also adapts beautifully to home offices, libraries, or formal dining rooms. Build your complete card room collection with other playing card symbol chairs - heart, club, and diamond versions are available, plus armless options for varied seating arrangements. Jonathan Charles Fine Furniture
Jonathan Charles Fine Furniture is the vision of Jonathan Sowter, an English furniture designer who excels at the art of fine antique reproduction. They design and manufacture the highest-quality European antique replicas as well as their own unique transitional designs, which are distributed to the best shops and interior designers throughout North America, U.K., Spain, Italy, Russia and France, just to name a few.
What makes them different is their meticulous attention-to-detail and pursuit of high-quality construction. This has propelled their company growth from just ten employees in April 2004 to over 1,400 in December 2011. Their passion for detail is also reflected in their in-house brass foundry, in which their manufacture their own hardware so that when they design a new piece of furniture they can also design one-of-a-kind pulls, hinges, locks and even keys for that piece.
It is their aim to constantly expand into new markets, while continuing to be a brand synonymous with the finer things in life.
They are craftsmen
Jonathan Charles works with artisans who display a large range of skills. They take pride in their work, which is evident in their beautifully-crafted antique replicas. They go far beyond just creating furniture that resembles English classics. They employ age-old techniques, which breathe soul and lasting-quality into their products.
They are designers
Many of their inspirations come from original antiques that Jonathan discovers in his travels. Sometimes, they will reproduce them as accurately as possible, while at other times they will take a detail that they like and design a completely new piece of furniture around that feature.
Oftentimes, they will start the design process from scratch. They gather inspiration from a variety of sources – be it a classic wallpaper design, nature, classic antiques, a rare object, or jewelry.
They never design to the limitations of their factory, and have actually expanded their factory as they have developed new skills in advanced marquetry, bronze casting, hand carving and much more.
They stand for quality
They never compromise on design and would be foolish to compromise on quality. Only the finest materials are used in their furniture. They also employ inspectors that ensure technically-sound components and design throughout the process. These experts oversee production, checking in at key transaction points so that nothing is overlooked. Before an item is packaged, it is reviewed with a keen eye and must pass a comprehensive checklist by their quality control inspector.
