This exceptional Jonathan Charles Square Card Table captures the drama and grandeur of William Kent's 18th-century English baroque design. Measuring 44.6 inches square, this substantial Game Table features the kind of bold carved details that make Georgian furniture so collectible. The tan leather-inset top is both beautiful and practical, complete with brass cup holders positioned at each corner to keep drinks safely away from the playing surface. The drawers with ornate brass hardware offer convenient storage for cards, gaming pieces, or other essentials. The real showstopper is the carved ornamentation—dramatic grotesque masks adorning the shoulders of each cabriole leg, their theatrical faces bringing personality and presence to the piece. These powerful legs sweep down to realistically carved lion's paw feet, a hallmark of Kent-inspired furniture that adds both visual weight and stability. The acanthus leaf scrollwork and baroque details throughout showcase expert craftsmanship that honors the original William Kent aesthetic. Part of the prestigious Jonathan Charles Windsor Collection, this Walnut Game Table works beautifully in traditional homes, English country estates, and even eclectic interiors where antique-style furniture adds character. Perfect for card rooms, libraries, drawing rooms, or studies, it serves equally well as a gaming table, center table, or accent piece. Whether you're a serious card player, an antique furniture collector, or simply appreciate fine English furniture design, this William Kent-style Card Table brings authentic Georgian elegance to any space.

Jonathan Charles Fine Furniture
Jonathan Charles Fine Furniture is the vision of Jonathan Sowter, an English furniture designer who excels at the art of fine antique reproduction. They design and manufacture the highest-quality European antique replicas as well as their own unique transitional designs, which are distributed to the best shops and interior designers throughout North America, U.K., Spain, Italy, Russia and France, just to name a few.
What makes them different is their meticulous attention-to-detail and pursuit of high-quality construction. This has propelled their company growth from just ten employees in April 2004 to over 1,400 in December 2011. Their passion for detail is also reflected in their in-house brass foundry, in which their manufacture their own hardware so that when they design a new piece of furniture they can also design one-of-a-kind pulls, hinges, locks and even keys for that piece.
It is their aim to constantly expand into new markets, while continuing to be a brand synonymous with the finer things in life.
They are craftsmen
Jonathan Charles works with artisans who display a large range of skills. They take pride in their work, which is evident in their beautifully-crafted antique replicas. They go far beyond just creating furniture that resembles English classics. They employ age-old techniques, which breathe soul and lasting-quality into their products.
They are designers
Many of their inspirations come from original antiques that Jonathan discovers in his travels. Sometimes, they will reproduce them as accurately as possible, while at other times they will take a detail that they like and design a completely new piece of furniture around that feature.
Oftentimes, they will start the design process from scratch. They gather inspiration from a variety of sources – be it a classic wallpaper design, nature, classic antiques, a rare object, or jewelry.
They never design to the limitations of their factory, and have actually expanded their factory as they have developed new skills in advanced marquetry, bronze casting, hand carving and much more.
They stand for quality
They never compromise on design and would be foolish to compromise on quality. Only the finest materials are used in their furniture. They also employ inspectors that ensure technically-sound components and design throughout the process. These experts oversee production, checking in at key transaction points so that nothing is overlooked. Before an item is packaged, it is reviewed with a keen eye and must pass a comprehensive checklist by their quality control inspector.
