This magnificent Greek Revival Biedermeier style Wingback Chair brings dramatic early 19th century design to contemporary interiors. Part of the Jonathan Charles Windsor collection, this High Back Winged Armchair stands 116cm tall in striking formal black. The Wing Chair features a painted black frame that creates bold contrast against the full Antwerp fabric upholstery. Greek key pattern details carved into the arms add classical architectural interest to this High Back Armchair. The combination of the formal black finish with traditional Biedermeier proportions results in a piece that's both commanding and elegant. As a designer Dining Armchair, this Wingback Armchair transforms mealtime into an occasion. The high back design provides excellent support during long dinners, while the distinctive wings create a sense of ceremony at the head of the table. Equally impressive as a living room statement piece, this Wing Chair anchors any seating arrangement with authority. The black painted finish frame brings a contemporary edge to the classical Greek Revival style. This bold colour choice makes the Wingback Chair particularly striking in modern interiors, where it bridges traditional craftsmanship with current design trends. The Antwerp upholstery adds textural interest while maintaining the chair's formal character. Built to exacting Jonathan Charles standards, this High Back Winged Armchair combines period-inspired beauty with lasting quality. The robust construction ensures years of dependable use in busy dining rooms or living spaces. For a complete dining set, matching upholstered dining benches are available separately from the Windsor collection. Transform your dining room or living area with this exceptional Wingback Armchair. Whether used singly as an accent piece or in multiples around a dining table, this designer Wing Chair makes an unmistakable style statement.

Jonathan Charles Fine Furniture
Jonathan Charles Fine Furniture is the vision of Jonathan Sowter, an English furniture designer who excels at the art of fine antique reproduction. They design and manufacture the highest-quality European antique replicas as well as their own unique transitional designs, which are distributed to the best shops and interior designers throughout North America, U.K., Spain, Italy, Russia and France, just to name a few.
What makes them different is their meticulous attention-to-detail and pursuit of high-quality construction. This has propelled their company growth from just ten employees in April 2004 to over 1,400 in December 2011. Their passion for detail is also reflected in their in-house brass foundry, in which their manufacture their own hardware so that when they design a new piece of furniture they can also design one-of-a-kind pulls, hinges, locks and even keys for that piece.
It is their aim to constantly expand into new markets, while continuing to be a brand synonymous with the finer things in life.
They are craftsmen
Jonathan Charles works with artisans who display a large range of skills. They take pride in their work, which is evident in their beautifully-crafted antique replicas. They go far beyond just creating furniture that resembles English classics. They employ age-old techniques, which breathe soul and lasting-quality into their products.
They are designers
Many of their inspirations come from original antiques that Jonathan discovers in his travels. Sometimes, they will reproduce them as accurately as possible, while at other times they will take a detail that they like and design a completely new piece of furniture around that feature.
Oftentimes, they will start the design process from scratch. They gather inspiration from a variety of sources – be it a classic wallpaper design, nature, classic antiques, a rare object, or jewelry.
They never design to the limitations of their factory, and have actually expanded their factory as they have developed new skills in advanced marquetry, bronze casting, hand carving and much more.
They stand for quality
They never compromise on design and would be foolish to compromise on quality. Only the finest materials are used in their furniture. They also employ inspectors that ensure technically-sound components and design throughout the process. These experts oversee production, checking in at key transaction points so that nothing is overlooked. Before an item is packaged, it is reviewed with a keen eye and must pass a comprehensive checklist by their quality control inspector.
